Artykuł jest prezentacją autoetnografii na tle krótkiej historii polskich uczelni po roku 1989. Autoetnografia zostaje zdefiniowana jako praktyka autobiografizmu akademickiego, która wiąże analizę uczelni z opisem tożsamości badacza. Praktykę tę należy uznać za coraz potrzebniejszą w Polsce ze względu na pogłębiający się kryzys tożsamości uczelni. Kryzys, wywołany przede wszystkim przez neoliberalizm, polega na stopniowym oddzielaniu nauki od dydaktyki i od współpracy ze środowiskiem. Autoetnografia diagnozuje osobność jako cechę rozwojową uczelni w Polsce i przeciwstawia temu takie formy wymiany wiedzy, które kwestionują istniejące kryteria oceny nauki, a ponadto dowartościowują dydaktykę i więzi środowiskowe.

The article is a presentation of autoethnography against the background of the short history of Polish universities after 1989. Autoethnography is defined as the practice of academic autobiography, which links the analysis of the university to the description of the researcher's identity. This practice should be considered increasingly necessary in Poland due to the deepening crisis of university identity. The crisis, brought about primarily by the neoliberal system, is the gradual separation of research from teaching and from collaboration with the community. Autoethnography diagnoses separateness as a developmental feature of higher education institutions in Poland, and contrasts it with forms of knowledge exchange that undermine the evaluation system and furthermore value didactics and community ties.
