Based on Fabienne Verdier's canvas and her initiatory journey, this short text explains how the painter's drives come to be embodied. In this regard, Chinese painting offers us a vast pool of images. The word canvas can in fact call to the word fabric, which beyond the organic aspect, refers to the very constitution of the image of the subject struggling with language. The semantic game alone suggests what is happening in the painting. The expression se faire carries a necessary reference to the theory of drives, and especially for a psychoanalyst, to Lacan's XI seminar which gives pride of place to painting to identify the object of gaze.It can be deduced from this title that pictorial creation could consist of a subject working through sublimation towards his own "jubilant assumption", this double image of the body. Indeed, it is by seeing the painting as a visible effect of the inventions of the subject, by identifying the weaving of the networks of signs which compose it, that Freud and Lacan isolated the drive, in order to give us to see a representation of the unrepresentable: how the vital psychic movement of the painter, from birth to death, creates a substitute body. The subject never ceases to give birth to this body in order to feed it to the gaze of the Other. It’s about his enjoyment.

À partir de la toile de Fabienne Verdier, de sa traversée initiatique, ce court texte expose comment les pulsions du peintre en viennent à s’incarner. La peinture chinoise nous offre à cet égard un vaste vivier d'images. Le mot toile peut en effet appeler au mot tissu, qui au-delà de l’aspect organique, renvoie à la constitution même de l’image du sujet aux prises avec le langage. Le jeu sémantique laisse entendre à lui seul ce qui se joue de miroitant dans la peinture. L' expression se faire emporte quant à elle une référence obligée à la théorie des pulsions, et tout spécialement pour un psychanalyste, au séminaire XI de Lacan qui fait la part belle à la peinture pour cerner l’objet regard.
