Parmi les différentes critiques qui ont été adressées à la macroéconomie contemporaine (l’appproche DGE pour « dynamic general equilibrium »), la question de l’impératif des « microfondements de la macro-économie » a occupé une place importante. L’objectif de notre notre article est d’évaluer la pertinence des critiques avancées sur ce point. À cette fin, nous nous penchons sur trois articles représentatifs, écrits par A. Leijonhufvud, K. Hoover et A. Vercelli. Nous mettons en avant que l’impératif de microfondements ne constitue qu’un des choix méthodologiques sur lesquels l’approche DGE repose et n’est peut-être pas le plus décisif.

Among the various criticisms that have been addressed to contemporary macroeconomics (“dynamic general equilibrium” macroeconomics), the question of the imperative of “microfoundations of macroeconomics” has occupied an important place. The objective of our article is to assess the relevance of the criticisms put forward about it. To this end, we look at three representative articles, written by A. Leijonhufvud, K. Hoover, and A. Vercelli. We emphasize that the imperative of microfoundations is only one of the methodological choices on which the DGE approach is based, and perhaps is not the most decisive.
