This article aims to demonstrate that CSR, as a project, could “regenerate” strategic management. Through the prism of the “Project-Based View” approach, we analyze the ISO 26000 way to implement CSR within an organization. In doing so, we demonstrate that this approach is a project that causes the structures of organizations to evolve by expanding their aims. Such aims are no longer limited to shareholders’ expectations, but integrate all stakeholders, social issues, and long-term issues. This research is based on two longitudinal case studies: two action research projects carried out over a period of three years in two organizations operating in the food industry and in the social economy respectively.
