Effectiveness and Entrepreneurial Insight: The Role of Techniques Promoting Creativity

In entrepreneurship, technique is most frequently defined as a source of effectiveness. However, recent theories on implementation and on the role of turbulence in business development emphasize that entrepreneurship does not only aim at a single result (business creation); it also generates an exploration and exploitation of multiple potentials. Our study is focused on the role of creativity techniques among groups of students. Such techniques help them to objectify and put into perspective their beliefs. It does this by encouraging them to make a clear statement of their entrepreneurial intentions. This is possible if students combine creativity techniques with other techniques such as meta-discourse, critical approaches to practice and a set of skills such as learning through guidance. Our conclusions invite other scholars to identify the different techniques that are consciously and unconsciously embedded in the structure of entrepreneurial intention in order to see how individuals balance multiple ways of achieving a goal-oriented entrepreneurial action.
