All the names surrounding the expert patient such as patient-worker, patient-partner, patient-tutor, patient-resource, patient-teacher, etc. create a blur that harms the understanding of his/her place and role. A clinical psychologist, an expert patient, and an administrative executive, at the origin of the creation of a system of expert patients in the care pathway of the addiction service of the Bichat hospital, give some key points from their experience to allow everyone to initiate or continue a personal and institutional reflection.
