Résumé 0

Since the news of Paulin Hountondji’s passing, everything has been said about the man. Therefore, there is nothing to add except to rediscover what has always been essential for him: the human being. This will be his final lesson. Through his intellectual journey, we discover a unifier and leader of a group of young African intellectuals, practically all philosophers, who will collaborate with him on the Commission of Philosophy. The direction taken by the Commission and the publication of African Philosophy. Myth and Reality, a brilliant critique of ethnophilosophy, led to a split with the elders of Présence Africaine. The era of a new scientific tradition in Africa had begun. This was his dream, shared by the members of the Commission, and brought to fruition through the creation of the African Center for Advanced Studies in Porto Novo. A founding member of the African Academy of Religious, Social and Political Sciences, he calls for overcoming religious intolerance with secular dialogue and a Universal God.
