We propose an overview of the theoretical aim and the community of thought of most of the articles gathered in this collection. Recalling that R. Jakobson had already proposed to add a third level of articulation to the theoretical division of A. Martinet, the reflection is in line with a cohort of researchers (H. Poincaré, A. Berthoz, G. Rizzolatti...) for whom perception is a simulated action. The analysis thus establishes a link - qualified as preconscious - between the perceptual aspect of the articulatory gesture and the conceptual aspect, the internalized articulatory experience thus constructing a kind of kinesthetic memory at the service of the encoding of meaning (we have been able to observe, for example, that the simple listening of words or logatoms involves the muscles of the tongue). D. Bottineau's cognematics is mobilized - since it allows us to shed light on grammatical markers without this theory totally excluding arbitrariness - but the major interest of the approach is that it combines the submorphological approach, via cognematics, with the psychomechanics of G. Guillaume and his heirs, in particular A. Rocchetti's primary movements, in order to propose in fine the beginning of a systematic typology of a submorphological nature The essential outstanding question remains the thorny problem of the selection of a salience coming into play in the advent of meaning.

Nous proposons un aperçu de la visée théorique et de la communauté de pensée de la plupart des articles réunis dans le présent recueil. Rappelant que R. Jakobson avait déjà proposé d’ajouter un troisième niveau d’articulation au découpage théorique d’A. Martinet, la réflexion s’inscrit dans le prolongement d’une cohorte de chercheurs (H. Poincaré, A. Berthoz, G. Rizzolatti...) pour qui la perception est une action simulée. L’analyse établit ainsi un lien – qualifié de préconscient – entre l’aspect perceptuel du geste articulatoire et l’aspect conceptuel, l’expérience articulatoire intériorisée construisant ainsi une sorte de mémoire kinesthésique au service de l’encodage du sens (on a pu observer, par exemple, que la simple écoute de mots ou de logatomes implique les muscles de la langue). La cognématique de D. Bottineau est mobilisée – puisqu’elle permet d’éclairer les marqueurs grammaticaux sans que cette théorie n’exclue totalement l’arbitraire – mais l’intérêt majeur de la démarche est qu’elle combine l’approche submorphologique, via la cognématique, avec la psychomécanique de G. Guillaume et de ses héritiers, notamment les mouvements premiers d’A. Rocchetti, pour proposer in fine un début de typologie systématique d’ordre submorphologique. La question essentielle en suspens reste l’épineux problème de la sélection d’une saillance entrant en jeu dans l’avènement du sens.
