Entraîneur de football : un travail d’équipe ?

Depuis une vingtaine d’années, dans les clubs de football professionnels, on constate un élargissement progressif des staffs techniques : entraîneur adjoint, entraîneur des gardiens, préparateur physique, préparateur mental, entraîneur des attaquants ou analyste vidéo constituent désormais autant de collaborateurs pour le coach principal. Cette complexification de l’encadrement du football a pour conséquence notoire la segmentation et la diversification du métier d’entraîneur, mais donne également à voir différents modes de coopération dans la planification et la division des tâches inhérentes à la performance sportive. Aussi, dès lors que la délégation des tâches appelle une délégation de la responsabilité du succès de la production de performance, comment s’organise la prise de décision dans la préparation et la gestion du match de football ? Il s’agit donc, d’une part, d’éclairer la composition des staffs des équipes de football professionnel français par quelques données chiffrées et, d’autre part, d’analyser qualitativement le modèle d’organisation du travail collectif au sein des équipes techniques.

Since about twenty years, in the professional clubs of football, we notice a progressive extension of technical staffs: assistant coach, trainer of goalkeepers, physical assistant, mental assistant, trainer of strikers or video analyst constitute from now many collaborators for the main coach. This complexity has for consequence the segmentation and the diversification of trainer’s activity, but also shows the various odes of cooperation in the planning and the division of the tasks inherent to the sports performance. Since the delegation of the tasks calls a delegation of the responsibility of the success of the production of performance, how gets organized the decision-making in the preparation and the management of the football match? Our objective is, on the one hand, to describe the composition of staffs of French professional football teams by some quantified data and, on the other hand, to analyze qualitatively the model of organization of the collective work within the technical teams.
