Cet article traite de la pièce et du film Edmond d’Alexis Michalik qui porte à la scène et à l’écran une biographie fictionnelle d’Edmond Rostand lors de la création de Cyrano de Bergerac. Il s’agit de s’interroger sur la relecture qu’offre l’œuvre de Michalik de l’œuvre classique d’Edmond Rostand. Si le dramaturge contemporain se conforme en partie à la doxa et aux mythèmes sur Cyrano de Bergerac et son auteur, il invite aussi à une relecture transmédiale qui présente la pièce comme un chef-d’œuvre du théâtre privé, comme un spectacle populaire issu du Boulevard.

This article deals with the play and film Edmond by Alexis Michalik, which brings to the stage and to the screen a fictional biography of Edmond Rostand during the premiere of Cyrano de Bergerac. It is about questioning the reinterpretation offered by Michalik's work of the classic work of Edmond Rostand. If the contemporary playwright conforms in part to the doxa and to the mythemes about Cyrano de Bergerac and its author, he also invites a transmedial rereading which presents the play as a masterpiece of private theater, like a popular show from the Boulevard.
