Résumé
The paranoid style in French media betrays a weakening of the norms of democratic debate. It can be traced back to the new digital context (online forums for personal expression and statistical computations of lifestyles). Yet, expressing oneself in public should be praised as contributing to democratic expectations. But what are the institutions for such expectations?
