Résumé En

This communication draws on reflections from a research project that aims to analyze the effects of "care for repair" (Fitz & Krasny, 2019) in selected French, Italian and Spanish cities. Based on the hypothesis that the growing imposition of austerity measures in cities has opened up a debate on care in different areas of public life, our research shows how this context produces new urban policies inviting citizens to take charge of the renovation, reprogramming and management of public buildings. Through an ethnographic approach, the research attempts to analyze the ambivalence between the ideology of austerity and the ethics of care.
