The excavations conducted at the Villa del Foro allowed the identification of several fire installations of a fixed characterfixed fire installations (Venturino - Giaretti, Le indagini archeologiche), as well as a wide repertoire of large-scale artefacts that can be traced back to activities involving the transformation of products following heat treatment. The installations can be traced back either to the artisanal sphere, as in the case of the ceramic kilns, or to more strictly domestic production or linked to the processing of foodstuffs, as in the case of the baking plates. The analysis, both throughThe analysis, both through the study of the evidence in situ and through the examination of the impressive quantity of burnt earth remains, was approached from a morpho-technological and functional point of view, in an attempt to delineate the processes of construction of these structures, their original morphology, the dynamics and rhythms of their use, and also to identify typological comparisons in the available archaeological documentation.

Gli scavi condotti a Villa del Foro hanno permesso l’identificazione di diverse installazioni da fuoco a caratterefisso (Venturino - Giaretti, Le indagini archeologiche, oltre a un ampio repertorio di manufatti di grandi dimensioni riconducibili ad attività di trasformazione di prodotti a seguito di trattamento termico. Gli impianti possono essere ricondotti sia alla sfera artigianale, come nel caso delle fornaci per ceramica, sia a una produzione più strettamente domestica o legata alla lavorazione di prodotti alimentari, come nel caso delle piastre di cottura. L’analisi, sia attraversolo studio delle evidenze in situ, sia tramite l’esame dell’imponente quantità di resti in terra combusta, è stata affrontata da un punto di vista morfo-tecnologico e funzionale, nel tentativo di delineare i processi di realizzazione di tali strutture, la loro morfologia originaria, le dinamiche e i ritmi del loro utilizzo, cercando inoltre di individuare confronti tipologici nella documentazione archeologica disponibile.
