Résumé 0

Introduction: Satisfaction with life has been shown to be an important indicator of physical and mental well-being and can be affected by life events such as the loss of a loved one. Therefore, the present study aimed to analyze the relationship between a set of sociodemographic variables and satisfaction with life in Mexican bereaved adults during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted, in which the Satisfaction with Life Scale was applied to a total sample of 4875 participants. Results: Findings confirmed that being older, having a job and having higher education were associated with more satisfaction with life. On the other hand, the use of psychiatric medication and having more time elapsed since the loss were related to lower satisfaction with life. Conclusion: The study supports the need to build linkages between the population and mental health services, with special emphasis on some subpopulations of greater vulnerability.
