Résumé 0

In line with patients’ empowerment and autonomy needs, and taking health challenges into account, this research aims to better understand how behavioral self-care is perceived, and seeks to identify the elements that determine the intention to adopt this mode of care delivery. Based on a review of existing material on the subject, and on the results of a qualitative study with seventeen individuals who do not practice behavioral self-care (i.e., who are potential users), we propose an explanatory model of the intention to adopt behavioral self-care. This is of particular use to health organizations, enabling them to identify the courses of action that will strengthen the role of the patient in the delivery of care.
