Melinda Palombi, « "Et quasi cursores uitai lampada tradunt". Calvino e il modello di Lucrezio, per una scrittura cosmica », HAL-SHS : littérature, ID : 10670/1.9dwks0
Calvinian writing resembles that of Lucretius in that it is a cosmic writing, which intends not only to describe the universe but also to take up certain founding principles in its very form. A cosmogonic writing, "metaphor for the particulate substance of the world" (Six Memos for the Next Millennium), that conceives of the void as the place where everything can happen and where things like letters can unfold, combine, build and deconstruct.
