The Liber Pontificalis mentions, in the biography of Leo III (795-816), a building dedicated to the martyr Basilides with the expression "Verum etiam et sarta tecta beati Basilidis martyris, sita in Merulana, noviter restauravit". This paper, starting from the textual sources, proposes the placement of the said building in the Roman topographical context.
