The different worlds of the student-inhabitantThe analysis of students’ housing practices, movements and expectations has enabled the construction of a dual typology in student/inhabitant forms of dwelling, seen from the point of view of social relationships and construction of the self, and from that of emotions and control of desires. These typical ideals are tools for reflection enabling us to grasp some of the logics that structure students’ relation to lodging and housing. They also suggest that student housing professionals should think out their offers in view of this diversity of usages and behaviour.

ZusammenfassungDie Analyse der Praxis, der Wohnwege und der Wohnerwartungen der Studenten hat zum Aufbau einer doppelten Typologie der Wohnarten des Studenten-Einwohners geführt, mal unter dem Aspekt der sozialen Beziehungen und des Selbstaufbaus, mal unter dem Aspekt des Affekts und der Regulierung der Wünsche. Diese Ideal-Typen bilden Überlegungsinstrumente womit man einige der Logiken, die das Verhältnis der Studenten zum Wohnen und zur Wohnart strukturieren, erfassen kann und die die Akteure des Wohnungsbaus für Studenten dazu einladen, ihr Angebot auf der Basis dieser Vielfalt an Nutzungen und Verhaltensweisen zu überdenken.

ResumenEl análisis de las prácticas, de las trayectorias y de las esperanzas residenciales de los estudiantes permitió construir una doble tipología de las formas de habitar del estudiante-habitante, visto ya desde el punto de vista de las relaciones sociales y de la construcción de sí mismo, ya desde aquél de los afectos y de la regulación de los deseos. Estos ideales-tipos son unas herramientas de reflexión permitiendo captar algunas de las lógicas que estructuran la relación de los estudiantes con el alojamiento y el hábitat, y que invitan a los actores del alojamiento estudiante a replantear sus ofertas con el rasero de esta diversidad de los usos y de los comportamientos.
