À travers le mythe de Déméter-Perséphone, cet article tente de dégager la spécificité du rôle de l’archétype de la Mère dans l’individuation féminine. « Il faut que meure la relation avec la mère et de cela on meurt presque soi-même » écrivait Jung dans les Métamorphoses… Mais il faut aussi, pour que vie s’en suive, retrouver la mère après l’avoir perdue, passer de la Mère imaginaire à cette Mère symbolique à laquelle Pierre Solié a su restituer sa place, aux côtés du Père.

Through the Demeter-Persephone myth, this article attempts to distill the specificity of the role of the archetype of the Mother in feminine individuation. « The relation with the mother has to die, and of that, one nearly dies oneself », wrote Jung in The Metamorphoses. But in order for life to follow, one must reunite with the Mother after having lost her, and make the transition from the imaginary to the symbolic Mother, whom Pierre Solié knew to restore to her rightful place, at the Father’s side.
