"后西方社会学"是中国和法国等国家的部分社会学者近年来致力于探索的一种新型社会学知识系统，其主旨是试图通过中法等国社会学者的合作研究，探索一条在社会研究过程中超越西方中心主义和东方中心主义的新道路，以期形成一种能够将东方和西方的视野融合起来的新社会学概念和理论框架。全书共包括24篇论文，围绕着5个方面的问题对"后西方社会学"的可能性进行了探讨。《社会学知识的建构：后西方社会学的探索》可供大学本科以上对中外社会学和社会状况感兴趣的读者阅读。
