Dans un dossier comptable, les archives municipales de Lyon possèdent un recueil de pièces relatives à une famille proche du consulat lyonnais et datées des années 1460 et 1470. Parmi elles se trouvent les fragments d’un manuscrit, jusque-là inconnu, du Chevalier des dames, roman en faveur des femmes d’un poète anonyme, le « Dolent fortuné », du milieu du xve siècle. Ces morceaux, représentant au total 15 % du texte, proviennent de différentes parties de l’ouvrage, ce qui permet de reconstituer en partie le manuscrit initial. Le texte en lui-même rattache ce manuscrit à une famille de manuscrits jusque-là écartée par les éditeurs du texte malgré certaines caractéristiques intéressantes comme le lien avec les imprimés. L’étude de ce lien permet également de montrer que ce texte allégorique a eu une importante postérité, entre autres grâce à sa transformation pour un plus large public avec l’imprimerie.

A collection from documents relating to a family close to the Lyon consulate and dated between 1460 and 1470 is now at the Municipal Archives of Lyon among some accounting documents. Among them are the fragments of a manuscript hitherto unknown of the Chevalier des dames, a romance in favor of women by an anonymous poet, the “Dolent Fortuné,” from the mid-fifteenth century. These pieces, representing a total of fifteen percent of the text, come from different parts of the book, which allows us to reconstruct part of the original manuscript. The text itself links this manuscript to a family of manuscripts that had previously been dismissed by the editors of the text, despite certain interesting characteristics such as the connection with printed books. The study of the latter also allows us to show that this allegorical text had an important legacy, in particular thanks to the fact that printing allowed it to reach a wider audience.
