Comment surmonter les épreuves de la vie face à la perte de ses proches et la prise de conscience de sa mortalité ? Comment travailler toutes ces dimensions de la mort en psychothérapie ? L’auteur témoigne d’abord du choc affectif lié à trois pertes rapprochées et il en partage les effets sur sa pratique. À travers l’accompagnement de deux situations cliniques, celle d’un enfant et celle d’un adulte, ayant perdu une mère ou un frère, il tente de montrer quelques aspects de la transformation en Gestalt-thérapie. Il partage, en conclusion, sa conviction que la résilience est possible, après la disparition brutale d’un proche par l’intériorisation du lien et que, d’une certaine manière, les morts ne sont pas morts…

How can we overcome the hardships of life when faced with the loss of loved ones and the realization of our own mortality? How can we work with all these dimensions of death in psychotherapy? The author begins by recounting the emotional shock of three losses in a short time period and shares the effects on his own practice. Through the accompaniment of two clinical situations, one with a child and the other with an adult, having lost a mother or brother, he attempts to show some aspects of transformation in Gestalt therapy. In conclusion, he shares his conviction that resilience is possible, after the sudden disappearance of a loved one, through the internalization of the bond and that in a certain sense, the dead are not dead…
