Résumé
In this paper, we apply the notion of eligibility to the case of French senators, by developing two analytical tools: the personal component which refers to biographical profiles and socio-economic candidates and elected officials, institutional factors – as the voting system, the impact of political parties. Regarding the first aspect, our starting point is to determine the extent to which senators deserve the image that they are rigged by studying their socio-political. In a second step, we will focus on highlighting how the simultaneous presence of two voting methods – two-round majority and proportional – has noticeable effects on the profiles of senators.
