Lise Maurer, « Laure Pigeon, la ménade bleue », Essaim, ID : 10670/1.a49y1q
Laure Pigeon, the blue maenad Laure Pigeon’s ink work, tracing mystical webs and blue ladies, takes us to the boundaries between drawing and writing. The place accorded to beliefs and spiritualist practices in her early works and the role of the secretary – the sisters duo – with its transference effects on her later writings, raise certain issues. A temporality is at work. It is her form of a journal of mourning, going from the love letter to the absent one to her desire for artistic recognition. This reading raises questions concerning “the enigma of mourning” and “the surviving image”.
