Yves Lacoste has decided to file all his publications since he started to write in the beginning of the 50’s and to sort them in a chronological order. He was surprised to discover that some questions which are a cause for concern to him for a long time have been the object of many important publications, but published much more later. This « egobibliography », this « exposition » has reminded him the role played by such and such publishers in his decision to write, at a certain moment, such and such books.By reviewing all his reflections and publications through his long personal history, he realized how much the colonial then post-colonial history, and the destiny of France are important to him.

Yves Lacoste a choisi de classer ses publications depuis le début des années 1950 et de les ranger dans un ordre chronologique. Il a eu la surprise de voir que des questions qui le préoccupent depuis longtemps ont fait l’objet de publications, certes importantes, mais beaucoup plus tardives. Cette « ego-bibliographie exposition » lui a rappelé le rôle qu’a eu tel et tel grand éditeur, dans sa décision d’écrire, à un certain moment, tel ou tel ouvrage. En passant en revue tout ce qu’il a réfléchi et publié dans sa longue histoire personnelle, il a réalisé combien les histoires coloniales, puis postcoloniales, et le destin de la France lui importent grandement.
