The site of “Champ-Roche” is situated 6 km away from the historical center of Clermont-Ferrand (63) and extends on 4.5 hectares. The digunearthed some finds linked with a small gallo-roman rural sanctuary located along a road. A Gallic bust was found on the north end of theexcavation site in a vast protohistoric residential area. At the beginning of the Empire a way station was implanted in the occidental part while ata small distance to the east and outside of the investigated surface, the location of a roman villa was already known.
