This article aims to present current research of social representation in the health sector, to reflect the value of this concept in understanding the logic behind the adoption of specific practices. In this context, few investigations on the representations of health and illness, madness, body, cancer, hygiene, AIDS, drugs, will be presented with emphasis on the provision of such research for the humanist and social sciences.
