If the only alternative to the current regime of border closure seems to be one founded in migrants’ freedom of movement, this political horizon is confronted with a host of difficulties. By way of trying to respond to these issues, we set out from the multiple borders and social boundaries that constrain migrants’ movements as they travel, and highlight the many dimensions of the struggle into which one must engage to implement a politics of freedom of movement.
