Les professionnels des relations publiques trouvent la recherche universitaire fort spéculative et les chercheurs se disent troublés par l’utilisation managériale de la communication. Une approche historique est proposée de la construction relationnelle des deux groupes d’acteurs, en rapport avec les sciences sociales. Un rapprochement supposerait une recomposition de leurs relations intergroupales.

Public relations and communication researchWhereas the professionals of public relations consider that university research is speculative, many researchers are disturbed in front of the managerial use of the communication. A historical approach allows to observe the relational construction of the two groups of actors, in a specific relationship with social sciences. A reconciliation between the two groups would involve a recombining of their intergroupal global relations.
