Résumé 0

On the basis of two corpora comprised of far-right speech and comments, we study the discursive strategies that are deployed to convince people of the New World Order and the Great Replacement theory in online debates in Cyprus and Italy. We examine in particular how hate speech foregrounds such transnational propaganda with for example the common topos “foreigners must be neutralized”, and how this topos is extended through metaphors (immigration – invasion – national genocide) and outrageous generalizations that are common to both corpora.
