Andrés Torres Carceller, « ARTISTIC PRACTICES OF UNCOMMUNICATED COLLECTIVE CREATION: EXPERIMENTING WITH AUDIOVISUAL LANGUAGE AMONG FUTURE TEACHERS », HAL SHS (Sciences de l’Homme et de la Société), ID : 10670/1.b8a673...
This chapter addresses the importance of developing multiple literacies in the training of future teachers, focusing particularly on audiovisual language and its capacity to generate richer, more complex learning experiences. Starting from the observation that contemporary culture is characterized by multimodal communication, it highlights the inadequacy of traditional written literacy to meet the challenges of the information society. The concept of “uncommunicated collective creation” is introduced, inspired by artistic methods based on chance and fragmentation—such as the Surrealist “exquisite corpse”—to promote experimentation in educational contexts. These practices encourage critical reflection on authorship and the reuse of content in the digital age, where “copy, paste, and create” challenges the traditional notion of originality. In this regard, the chapter also emphasizes the different types of licenses (Copyleft, Creative Commons) that enable an ethical and flexible use of intellectual property.By way of conclusion, the chapter describes a training experience in which preservice teachers design sequential micro-videos, knowing only the ending of the previous piece. This strategy enhances creativity and awareness of the formal resources of audiovisual media, while also fostering collaboration and implicit dialogue among participants, even in the absence of direct communication.
