ZusammenfassungSeit der 90er Jahre kennen die Zeremonien zum Gedenken an die Gründer der nationalen oder regionalen Identität eine spektakuläre Entwicklung in der Niederprovence. Sie werden vor Denkmälern (Statuen, Büsten, Gedenktafeln) von den Verfechtern der Tradition zelebriert, die dabei von der lokalen Prominenz und ihren Mitbürgern unterstützt werden. Diese Zeremonien sind Begräbnisritualen ähnlich, wie es das rekurrente Ritual einer Messe in der Kirche zeigt. In Nordfrankreich dagegen werden die lokalen Helden in einer ganz verschiedenen Weise geehrt. Letzere werden in Form von riesigen Puppen ins Leben zurückgebracht. Sie laufen und tanzen durch die Strassen, wobei sie freundliche Gesten von den Mitbürgern erregen, welche durch den Jubel der lokalen Laienzeremonie getragen werden, in der jede soziale Hierarchie aufgehoben wird.

The ceremonies commemorating the founders of the national or regional identity are developing tremendously in Lower Provence since the 90’s. They are celebrated in front of memorials (statues, busts, plaques) by the defenders of the « tradition » supported by the local authorities and their fellow citizens. These ceremonies are similar to funerary rituals, which is confirmed, for example, by the recurring celebration of a mass in the church. On the other hand people pay homage to their local heroes in a quite different way in the North of France. These are brought back to life in the form of giant dummies that walk and dance in the streets, susciting amical gestures from the citizens who are carried away by the jubilation of a local lay celebration in which social hierarchies are abolished.

Les commémorations célébrant les fondateurs de l’identité locale ou régionale se développent en Basse-Provence de façon spectaculaire depuis les années quatre-vingt-dix. Elles sont accomplies autour d’un mémorial (statue, buste, épitaphe) par les défenseurs de « la tradition », avec le soutien des notables et de leurs concitoyens. Ces cérémonies s’apparentent à des rituels funéraires, entre autres confirmés par l’accomplissement récurrent d’une messe à l’église. En revanche, l’hommage rendu par les gens du Nord à leurs « héros » locaux est tout différent. Ces héros s’incarnent sous la forme d’un mannequin suscitant des gestes amicaux chez les habitants portés par la liesse d’une fête communale profane où s’effacent les hiérarchies sociales.
