Résumé 0

Children with ASD often show particularities in the processing of sensory information. We hypothesize that the implementation of a sensory stimulation method based on the child’s sensory interests promotes the emergence of preverbal and verbal communication skills and also makes it possible to reduce the need for stimulation in children with moderate to severe ASD. We therefore developed an action-research protocol for a few children with the goal of observing whether communication improved with psychotherapy sessions aimed at sensory integration. The benefits of this action-research lie on the institutional level, in the investment of the team, as well as in the care provided to the children with ASD. We observed benefits in the relational prerequisites allowing communication with a differentiated other.
