Résumé 0

The objective of this instrumental study was to analyze the unidimensionalstructure of the subscales of fear and avoidance of the Spanish version of the LSASCA-SR for children and adolescents under the Rasch models family. The sample wascomposed by 454 students (236 male and 218 female) from elementary and high schoolsaged between 10 and 17 years. A rating scale model was applied to the fear andavoidance subscales. The goodness-of-fit statistics (unweighted mean square and weightedmean square) showed values near to those expected by the model, except in the items10 and 16 for the fear subscale, and items 6, 7, and 21 for the avoidance subscale. Moreover, partitioning the total sample in two random subgroups of 150 persons exhibitedthat the rating scale model showed an invariant ordering of the item and ability parameters. The study supports the usefulness of the Rasch model and its family in determining theunidimensionality of psychological tests.
