A delve into pragmatist institutionalism: an Interview with Jean-Jacques Gislain and Bruno Théret, editors of the recent translation of John R. Commons, Institutional Economics, in French -- For the first time, John R. Commons’ Institutional Economics has been published in French. Jean-Jacques Gislain and Bruno Théret, who edited the translation and presented Commons’ work in four complementary texts, granted us an interview. The conversation gives us an insight into a major work published in the United States in 1934, but largely forgotten, and helps us to get to grips with a complex and often disconcerting thought due to the specificity of its conceptual apparatus.

À l’occasion de la première publication française de L’"économie institutionnelle" de John R. Commons, Jean-Jacques Gislain et Bruno Théret, qui en ont dirigé la traduction et introduisent l’oeuvre de Commons dans quatre textes complémentaires, nous ont accordé un entretien. Celui-ci nous permet de découvrir une oeuvre majeure publiée en 1934 aux États-Unis mais largement passée dans l’oubli, et de nous faciliter l'’entrée dans une pensée complexe et souvent déroutante du fait de la spécificité de son appareil conceptuel.
