The ability of plants from various parts of the Southern Hemisphere, grown at “Les Cèdres” botanical garden, to adapt to the inversion of the seasons in the Northern Hemisphere has been studied. Sometimes a phenological change results in the plants adopting the rhythm of the northern seasons. More frequently there is no change and the plants retain the southern rhythm.

La présence au jardin botanique Les Cèdres de plantes originaires de diverses régions de l'hémisphère austral permet d'observer leur adaptation à l'inversion des saisons dans l'hémisphère boréal. Celle-ci peut s'accompagner d'un changement phénologique avec adoption du rythme boréal, mais, le plus souvent, les végétaux ne changent pas de comportement et conservent le rythme austral.
