Résumé 0

How do authoritarian states manage their relationships with the digital giants? Through two emblematic case studies, China and Russia, the article illustrates the ambivalent relations of the Big Tech with those regimes where public power prevails over private interests. Caught between reciprocal economic interests and the desire to maintain national sovereignty, the western, Chinese or Russian digital giants have learnt to manage conflicts and contradictions so as to preserve their shares of the market.
