On January 29th and 30th 1987, a CALL seminar was organised and sponsored by the APLIUT, the UPLEGESS and the BRITISH COUNCIL in the premises of the BRITISH COUNCIL. Alison PIPER presented the results of her research on the use of word-processing programs in developing writing skills. She started by listing the most common word-processing functions and gave her reasons for adapting them to this new field. Afterwards, the participants chose their workshops during which they tested Alison PIPER'S new exercises. At the end of each series of exercises, and during the final sessions, the participants gathered to give their opinions on this CALL method and their suggestions for other exercises and activities. The following report on this seminar includes the materials handed out by Alison PIPER.

Le 29 et le 30 Janvier 1987, un séminaire a été organisé dans les locaux du BRITISH COUNCIL par l'APLIUT, l'UPLEGESS et le BRITISH COUNCIL. Alison PIPER a présenté ses travaux sur l'enseignement de l'anglais langue étrangère à l'aide du traitement de texte. Elle a d'abord rappelé les caractéristiques du traitement de texte en précisant les raisons pour lesquelles cet outil pouvait améliorer l'expression écrite. Les participants se sont ensuite répartis en groupes et se sont installés devant les micro-ordinateurs pour tester les exercices qu' Alison PIPER avaient conçus. Entre chaque série d' exercices et à la fin du séminaire, les participants se sont réunis pour échanger leurs impressions sur cette méthode d'E.A.O. et pour suggérer d'autres types d'exercices ou d'activités liés au traitement de texte.
