During the 18th and 19th seasons of excavations at Ras Shamra, C. Schaeffer recovered a discrete group of tablets interpreted by him as deriving from a “tablet oven”. The existence of this oven was later contested by J.-C. Margueron. This article attempts a tentative characterization and dating of the texts of this group: it is a preliminary study of the epigraphic data, highlighting certain research questions that ought also to be approached from the perspective of the archeological data.

Lors des 18e et 19e campagnes, C. Schaeffer mettait au jour un lot de tablettes provenant, selon lui, d’un « four à tablettes ». L’existence de ce four a été contestée par J.-C. Margueron. Cet article propose une tentative de caractérisation et de datation des textes de ce lot. Il s’agit d’une étude épigraphique préliminaire dégageant des voies de recherche qu’il conviendra d’approfondir et de confronter avec les données archéologiques.
