The connection between the Liber Glossarum and Isidore of Seville's work is well known. What is not so well known is the different attitude of LG authors with regard to the data taken from Isidore. In this paper I will try to approach the study of this specific aspect in an attempt to provide some information that may help to reconstruct the process that underlies the LG creation, product of an age which interprets a past and transmits it in this form. The translation of the data is not always a simple transcription, adaptations abound and the procedures used indicate that the task has gone through different phases and has needed the collaboration of people from different backgrounds.
