Vijay Krishnarayan was born in London and studied town and country planning at Oxford Polytechnic, where he became involved in the Anti-Apartheid Movement and the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament in the 1980s. He joined the Commonwealth Foundation after a decade in the Caribbean (notably Belize, Saint Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago), first working as a Voluntary Service Overseas volunteer and then for the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (as its Managing Partner), focusing on the joint ...
