Résumé 0

The paper wonders about the origin of Marx’s exploitation theory and insists on the influence of Quesnay and Turgot. The Marx’s exploitation theory owes also to Smith and Ricardo. But relying too much on Ricardo and on a measurement of value in labour time, Marx renders impossible a measurement of exploitation. We put forward a price measurement of exploitation, based on Quesnay’s surplus theory which maintains the idea that labour is the origin of value. National accounting should be the basis of analysis and it is necessary to take account of the role of the State.
