Tiffane Levick, « Sounding the Essence of Sense and Sound: On Translating Playful and Poetic Prose », HAL-SHS : littérature, ID : 10670/1.bwuevg
This paper aims to explore the obstacles presented in the translation into English of the numerous examples of wordplay nestled within the poetically colloquial prose of Patrick Goujon’s 2003 novel Moi non. Goujon’s resourceful manipulation of language throughout the novel requires the translator to identify solutions which respect simultaneously the playfulness in style and the nuances in meaning of the words on the page.
