Résumé 0

This paper discusses the social issues associated with the actions undertaken by the animal rights organization L214 and the role of its videos as a tool for empowerment. L214 is an organization that fights against animal abuse in farms and slaughterhouses. Its initiatives include the filming and online dissemination of videos that empower people. Thanks to these videos, L214 has succeeded in educating and raising the awareness of the French people, media, and administration. Their images acted as an electroshock: no one can now close their eyes to the problems of this industry. But there's another side to the coin: L214's leaders are activists. As such, their videos are as much tools for mobilization as they are for empowerment. The analysis of their editing allows us to attest to this. Although we have no intention of questioning the views of L214, it is nevertheless appropriate to temper them.
