Résumé
The purpose of this paper in its first part is to discuss some issues that are significant in the study of the River Plate basin Church from colonial times and from the first half of the XIX century. In its second and third part, this paper presents a general structure of the steps and main points in the process of dissolution of the Spanish American Christian regime throughout the XIX century. Also, the author gives some suggestions for research that the current historiography has not dealt with yet
