The author seeks to put himself in the place of the surfer who discovers the concept of Economic Intelligence. He insists on the apparent dissonance, internal to this expression for the French Internet surfer, then he presents a sample of results obtained on the web after the request “IE” (Economic Intelligence). The analysis focuses on the icon and sites presented on the first page of the ranking. It concludes with the strong pregnance of the solicitations of the imagination. The non-rational representations thus produced are perhaps the factor that constitutes IE (Economic Intelligence) in a specific semiosphere.
