Alessandro Garcea, « Il criterio della definitezza nell'Ars breuiata di Agostino », HAL-SHS : philosophie, ID : 10670/1.c6kxrm
The grammatical treatise Ars sancti Augustini pro fratrum mediocritate breuiata is a medieval, summarized version of the lost dialogue De grammatica written by Augustine. The section on the pronouns contains a long discussion of the definite/indefinite character of this word class, which shows that Augustine took into account different opinions on this topic and proposed an entirely new classification. The affirmative/interrogative properties of the pronouns were preferred to any ambiguous reference to deixis and context.
