Résumé 0

Objectives: To determine whether the annual incidence rate of sexual violence has varied over the past two decades within the same university community, focusing on both students and employees. Method: A secondary analysis of data from two surveys carried out twenty-two years apart made it possible to compare four indicators of self-reported sexual violence, taking into account status (student population, teaching staff, manager/professional, and support staff), age, sex/gender, and length of university attendance. Results: The results of the logistic regression analyses reveal a slight decrease (4 to 5 percent depending on the indicators) in the overall annual incidence rate of sexual violence recorded between 1994 and 2016. This decrease appears to be consistent, regardless of status, age, sex/gender, and length of university attendance. Nevertheless, women, younger people, and support staff have consistently reported higher incidence rates than other groups. Conclusions: The slight decrease observed could be the result of preventive efforts on this campus, although these efforts have not been evaluated. Other factors could explain this variation. Further studies are needed to determine whether the rates continue to decline over time, whether they decline similarly for all groups, and whether these changes are a result of the cumulative effect of various preventive measures on campus.
