“The dead are people like the others”. This observation was made to me by Philippe, a medium in the Spiritist group of the city where I live, during an interview with him and Michèle, his mother. I had asked them to explain to me how they communicated with the dead – what does hearing, feeling or seeing mean in such a case? We have evoked their story, their unusual destinies, with these trials, endangerments of the body and trouble with death, these feelings of presence and these surprising premonitory dreams. Destinies that these people have managed to socialize and transform into destiny. The fact that the dead are people like the others has multiple consequences, including the obligation to take care of them. And to take care, on their behalf and at their request, of those who remain. The sessions in which they are summoned thus become true therapeutic devices, in which and by which, the inhabitants of two worlds learn, with each other and for each other, to reactivate bonds, impulses of life and of joy.
