Dans la lignée de penseurs trop délaissés, tels Goerges Bataille, Georg Simmel, l’auteur tente de montrer comment il y a un « hédonisme du quotidien » qui sous-tend toute vie en société. Non plus une attente, une tension vers l’avenir, mais un présentéisme. On voit resurgir ce que Bataille nommait la « part maudite », cet aspect chtonien, nocturne de l’imaginaire. Le lien social devient émotionnel. Ce que l’auteur nomme « une éthique de l’esthétique ».

In the tradition of thinkers neglected for too long, such as Georges Bataille and Georg Simmel, the author aims to demonstrate that there is an “everyday hedonism” that underlies all life in society. It is not an expectation nor a tension regarding the future, but a presentism. We can see the resurgence of what Bataille called the “ part maudite” (the accursed share), that chthonian and nocturnal aspect of the imaginary. The social link becomes emotional, and this is what the author calls “an ethics of the aesthetic.”
